Doctrinal Stance
The doctrinal stance of Walk With Me flows from its Reformed/Presbyterian interpretation of Scripture. While intentionally not denomination-specific, it affirms the three ecumenical Christian creeds:
- Apostles’ Creed
- Nicene Creed
- Athanasian Creed
Walk With Me fully embraces such Reformational emphases as
- Scripture alone as our rule for faith and life.
- salvation by grace alone.
- justification by faith alone.
- the sacraments as covenant signs and seals of God’s promise.
- regeneration and sanctification through the power of the Holy Spirit.
- the priesthood of all believers.
- the lordship of Christ over all creation.
- God’s call to daily obedience and kingdom service.
- the ongoing need for Reformed churches to be always reforming.
While Walk With Me does not specifically reference any of the doctrinal standards of the Reformed and Presbyterian churches, it is fully consistent with all of them. Review the doctrinal standards of those who have collaborated on developing this curriculum:
A simple, clear presentation of the doctrinal stance of Walk With Me can be found in Q&A: A Summary of Biblical Teachings, a simplified Q&A-style summary of Reformed/Presbyterian doctrine that forms the basis for the doctrinal teaching offered for the second year of the early teen level of Walk With Me. For additional information on our doctrinal stance, email editors@WalkWithMeOnline.org.
